THEME: Educational Infrastructure & Child-Friendly Learning Spaces
SDG GOAL: SDG 4 – Quality Education
ABOUT THE PROJECT: Many government and low-income private schools across India lack essential classroom infrastructure, often leaving students to sit on floors or use broken furniture. This significantly affects concentration, comfort, and health, ultimately hindering learning outcomes. The School Bench Assembly Project aims to address this issue by assembling and distributing safe, ergonomic, and durable benches. Designed to seat two students each, these benches improve the physical environment of classrooms, making learning more engaging and accessible. The initiative also promotes community involvement through volunteer-led assembly and school-level engagement.
SCOPE OF PROJECT:
1. Assembly and installation of dual-seater school benches in targeted schools
2. Use of long-lasting materials suited for daily student use
3. Ergonomic design to support posture and minimize physical discomfort
4. Volunteer participation in bench assembly to foster civic engagement
5. Coordination with schools for allocation, placement, and upkeep
6. Customizable space for donor logos or school branding
IMPACT:
Enhanced student focus, comfort, and participation in classrooms Improvement in school attendance and learning experiences
