RFQ Code: WFL-RFQ-007
THEME: Eco-Friendly Community Spaces
SDG GOAL: SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities
ABOUT THE PROJECT: Playgrounds are vital for a child’s physical, social, and emotional development. However, many government and low-income schools lack safe and engaging play environments. This project addresses that gap by constructing sustainable playgrounds using recycled and locally sourced materials. These spaces are designed to be inclusive, safe, creative and encouraging active play, collaboration, and learning. The project also promotes environmental awareness by incorporating elements of sustainability in design, material choice, and community participation. By providing students with meaningful outdoor spaces, the initiative enhances well-being, fosters curiosity, and supports school engagement.
SCOPE OF PROJECT:
1. Design and installation of age-appropriate, safe, and inclusive play equipment
2. Use of eco-conscious materials like recycled tyres, wood, and metal
3. Creation of zones for physical activity, sensory exploration, and nature interaction
4. Ground preparation with safety surfacing and green elements
5. Engagement of volunteers in installation and beautification
IMPACT:
Promotes sustainability through reuse of materials and eco-conscious design.
